Spirecut opens Switzerland’s first Center of Excellence for ultrasound-guided hand surgery
Spirecut’s ultrasound-guided surgical instruments enable minimally invasive treatments for carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger, improving patient outcomes and recovery times.

Spirecut, a Swiss medtech pioneer in ultrasound-guided hand surgery, has inaugurated Switzerland’s first Center of Excellence at the Clinique de la Main in Geneva. The center aims to train surgeons in the SonoSurgery technique while supporting research into new applications for Spirecut’s Sono-Instruments®.

Spirecut, a leading medtech innovator, has established Switzerland’s first Center of Excellence for ultrasound-guided hand surgery at the Clinique de la Main in Geneva. Dedicated to advancing the adoption of the SonoSurgery technique, the center will serve as a training hub for Swiss surgeons and a platform for research into additional medical conditions treatable with Spirecut’s Sono-Instruments®.

Founded in 2020 by Professor Frédéric Schuind, Spirecut has developed a minimally invasive approach to treating carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger. Unlike traditional surgery, the patented SonoSurgery technique does not require incisions, offering improved outcomes, reduced recovery times, and greater patient comfort. The instruments are manufactured in Switzerland, reflecting Spirecut’s commitment to quality and precision.

With over 2,000 successful treatments performed across Switzerland, Belgium, the UK, Portugal, Italy, and the United States, Spirecut’s SonoSurgery technique has demonstrated its effectiveness and gained growing acceptance within the global medical community.

Positioning Switzerland as a global leader in ultrasound-guided hand surgery

The Center of Excellence is the result of a collaboration between Spirecut and Dr. Flavien Mauler of the Clinique de la Main in Geneva. Dr. Mauler, who trained under Prof. Fabian Moungondo at the University Hospital Erasme in Belgium, ensures that the techniques are implemented to the highest standards.

By prioritizing specialized training and knowledge transfer, Spirecut aims to enable local surgeons to adopt the SonoSurgery technique effectively. Patients at the Clinique de la Main already benefit from this advanced approach through ambulatory services.
